About Patrick Thompson

Patrick Thompson (born August 1978) is a Canadian visual artist who works between Ottawa, Ontario and Cape Dorset, Nunavut. His collective and solo work has been presented at The Royal Ontario Museum Institute for Contemporary Culture, The Art Gallery of Ontario, The Toronto Biennial of Art, The Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona and the Ottawa Art Gallery. Thompson has a collaborative practice PA System, with Alexa Hatanaka, which creates public artwork, sculpture painting and video. They exhibit in institutions internationally, such as the Canada House in London, the Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona and the Art Gallery of Ontario. PA System has an ongoing project called Embassy of Imagination (EOI) based in Kinngait (Cape Dorset, Nunavut) for and with Kinngait youth. Within EOI, Thompson is developing a multi-authored installation and community-engaged project for The British Museum's Arctic Homelands, Changing Climates.
