We are excited to announce a new monthly event at PAF, Creativity Café! This event sprung from the success and creative energy of Dance and Draw, a series of regular live and hybrid community events that member artist, Gavin Lynch initiated during the 2020 PAF virtual Open House. Dance and Draw invites community members to draw in the presence of a lightshow and original DJ set. Creativity Café is rooted in this original participatory idea of bringing communities together to engage with art and others in an inclusive, creative, educational, and friendly environment.

After piloting Dance and Draw as a regular monthly Sunday event, we found that people were interested in having a regular creative space to make and draw without dancing being a focal point. A short survey also told us that people are really looking for consistency in what programming we offer. A monthly event was deemed to be of great interest. Like Dance and Draw, this monthly event will also happen on the third Sunday of the month, between 2-5pm.

Creativity Café will offer a community hub while showcasing PAF members, and other local artists, to do workshops alongside individual and collaborative art making, live music and refreshments. A selection of PAF artists, and guest artists, will engage in collaborative art-making with the general public, giving people the opportunity to learn about art processes with emerging and professional artists from the community in an inclusive and welcoming space.

Café créatif 2020-2023

Nous sommes ravis d'annoncer un nouvel événement mensuel à PAF, Creativity Café! Cet événement est né du succès et de l'énergie créative de Dance and Draw, une série d'événements communautaires réguliers en direct et hybrides que l'artiste membre, Gavin Lynch, a initié lors de la journée portes ouvertes virtuelle PAF 2020. Dance and Draw invite les membres de la communauté à dessiner en présence d'un spectacle de lumières et d'un DJ set original. Le café créatif est enraciné dans cette idée participative originale de rassembler les communautés pour s'engager avec l'art et d'autres dans un environnement inclusif, créatif, éducatif et convivial.

Après avoir piloté Dance and Draw en tant qu'événement mensuel régulier du dimanche, nous avons constaté que les gens étaient intéressés à avoir un espace créatif régulier pour faire et dessiner sans que la danse ne soit un point focal. Un court sondage nous a également dit que les gens recherchent vraiment la cohérence dans les programmes que nous offrons. Un événement mensuel a été jugé d'un grand intérêt. Comme Dance and Draw, cet événement mensuel aura également lieu le troisième dimanche du mois, entre 14h et 17h.

Le café créatif offrira un centre communautaire tout en mettant en valeur les membres du PAF, et d'autres artistes locaux, pour faire des ateliers aux côtés de l'art individuel et collaboratif, de la musique en direct et des rafraîchissements. Une sélection d'artistes PAF, et des artistes invités, s'engagera dans la création artistique en collaboration avec le grand public, donnant aux gens l'occasion d'en apprendre davantage sur les processus artistiques avec des artistes émergents et professionnels de la communauté dans un espace inclusif et accueillant.
