About Andie Haltrich

Andie Haltrich holds a Bachelor of Education from Queen’s University’s Artist in Community Education program and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Concordia University.

Originally from Île Perrot, Haltrich is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice focuses on ideas about the land and how humans connect to it. Her engagement with the natural world informs her three-dimensional site-specific outdoor installations, and constitutes the conceptual backdrop of her work in landscape design.

Her recent turn toward representing the land in two-dimensions is less a turn to traditional landscape painting and more a means of expressing ideas about place and human belonging especially as they relate to the Rupert area and its layered histories.
